Biography & Info About My Work

Biography

I usually have been drawing when and where I should not have been - in books, on walls, during corporate meetings. In college, I combined my love of horses and art while earning my BA in Horsemanship. Through a twist of fate, I opted not to pursue an equine or art career but to have a career in the corporate field. This deviation was significant because it allowed to explore further the artistic path I am on now.  Currently, I work both with horses and art. In addition to that, I am certified in Reiki I & II and currently pursuing certification in Reiki III.

My Work

Like most artists I experiment with a lot of methods and mediums but watercolors are my favorite.  Since high school, I have been using this medium to catch the mood of subjects through the use of color and shapes. In the last couple of years, I have started working with acrylic and have been happy and sometimes frustrated with the results produced. I have also been experimenting with collage in order to add a more sculptural effect to my artwork.

Since horses and dogs have always been a part of my life, my work focuses on these animals but I do not limit myself to these animals.

The artwork I sell is original, not a reproduction (with the exeption of reproduced cards). I take care with selection of paper, paints, and framing materials I use.  The materials I use are acid-free and professional quality. I take even greater care in the actual painting of the artwork. Much time and thought goes into my pieces and it is my hope that you will take this into consideration when thinking about purchasing one of my pieces.

The below work is about 6x9", matted with white mat 9x12, and currently for sale.
